Brunch is in their name, so you know the team at The Wooden Spoon take it seriously. They take pride in serving up the perfect combination of breakfast and lunch. At the Wooden Spoon brunch is an everyday indulgence and is not just for weekends.
Their food philosophy centers around fresh, house-made dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. From their “Sweet & Salty” french toast to the “Beach Body” benny, they offer a full range of delicious, elevated brunch dishes. One of my personal favourites is the Playa bowl, an amazing mix of cajun chicken, kale, avocado, and salsa, served with two poached eggs on top. It’s summer in a bowl even on a rainy day!
Bonus, if you have small children, the Wooden Spoon takes the family customer experience to the next level with a kid’s play area and even spare diapers in the washrooms!
- 155023 Marine Drive, White Rock

With a heated patio overlooking the ocean and a euro-inspired seafood-focused menu, Uli’s is an excellent destination for weekend brunch. Uli’s is a White Rock institution – it has been a staple on White Rock beach for more than 30 years, run by the same local family. Their farm to table values with a focus on locally sourced seasonal fare plays a part in their longevity.
For brunch, I suggest the Crab Cake Benedict but you really can’t go wrong with any of their delicious menu options, especially if you add in an Uli’s specialty coffee. You can see their full brunch menu here!

Recently winning business person of the year from the South Surrey White Rock Chamber of Commerce, Jan’s restaurant “on the Beach,” offers a heated patio to enjoy year-round and is an absolute must try for brunch. They smoke their own salmon and make their own strawberry rhubarb jam too, so they truly exemplify the made in-house from scratch movement. Try the Brie and Marmalade Crepes if your tastes run to the sweet(ish) or the Smoked Salmon Hash for the more savoury. Yummy!

The Modern General Store is a true gem tucked away in the Rosemary Heights neighbourhood. Laura has created a modern take on the traditional general store in an “industrial farmhouse” setting. Her bakery provides a selection of cinnamon buns, muffins and more to indulge your sweet tooth as well as quiche, frittata and paninis if you’re craving savory. Everything is made fresh daily from local, simple ingredients, which can all be enjoyed in the café or taken home.
On Sundays, Laura outdoes herself by offering a specialty brunch with a selection of waffles, including the “Modern General” a waffle / eggs benny mash up as well as free-range egg creations such as the “In Between Eggs” and other seasonal fare. Add a 49th Parallel Coffee or a Silk Road Tea, and your weekend brunch goals are complete! Scroll down on this page to see her Sunday brunch menu.

Morgans Restaurant and Wine Bar has won Open Table’s “Diner’s Choice” for five years in a row, so it certainly deserves an entry on this list. Their brunch menu is well-rounded, featuring seasonal creations and traditional favorites. Their omelet, with its eclectic mix of crab, prawns, spinach, tomato and goat cheese with a side of roasted Yukon potato is sure to tempt many to add it to their list of brunch-time indulgences.
